LifeOwner Privacy Policy
Basic Policy
This policy sets out how the developer (the “Developer”) of LifeOwner (the “App”) handles information in the App.
The App is designed on the premise that it does not collect records of your activity. Your schedules, session records, and reflections are all stored only on your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect or transmit the following information:
- Personal information such as your name or email address (the App has no account registration at all. For how we handle your information when you contact us by email, see “Information You Send Us When You Contact Us”)
- Your schedules, task names, notes, and reflections
- Session records and statistics such as completion rates
- Information about the apps you select to block or allow (due to how Apple's Screen Time technology works, the Developer cannot know which apps you selected)
- Location, contacts, and photos
- Advertising identifiers (the App contains no advertising or tracking SDKs)
Information You Send Us When You Contact Us
If you contact us by email, the Developer receives your email address and the content of your inquiry. We use them only to respond to your inquiry, investigate bugs, and improve the App. We delete your emails within one year after we have finished handling your inquiry.
Data on Your Device
- The App's data is stored on your device and is included in standard iOS backups (such as iCloud Backup)
- Data on your device stays there until you delete it. The Developer does not receive this data and has no servers to store it
- You can delete the data at any time in the App under Settings → Delete All Data (「設定 → すべてのデータを削除」). (While you are focusing, while a schedule block is blocking apps, and from 60 minutes before the start of a “Strict” (「きびしい」) schedule until it ends, you can delete the data after that schedule ends.) If you have used the calendar writing feature, this also deletes all events the App wrote to the “LifeOwner” calendar, including past events. If the calendar becomes empty, the calendar itself is also deleted. Events you added to that calendar yourself are not deleted (as long as those events remain, the calendar also remains)
- Deleting the App also deletes the data on your device. However, events written to the iOS Calendar remain in your device's calendar. To delete them, use Settings → Delete All Data before deleting the App, or delete the “LifeOwner” calendar in the iOS Calendar app
Communication with External Parties
The App communicates externally only in the following cases:
- Purchases and purchase status checks: When you purchase or restore a subscription, the information needed to verify the purchase status (transaction information) is exchanged with Apple (App Store / StoreKit). The App does not use any external server or third-party billing platform for purchases, and Apple is the only party it communicates with. This information never includes records of your activity.
- Crash information: To fix bugs in the App, crash information may be provided to the Developer by Apple through Apple's standard mechanism (only if you have turned on sharing). No third-party analytics SDKs are used.
Disclosure to Third Parties
Except as required by law, the Developer does not provide or sell your information to third parties. The purchase processing and crash information described above take place within Apple's systems.
Calendar Access (Only When You Use the Related Features)
The App accesses your device's calendar only if you turn on a calendar integration feature. It does so for the following two purposes:
- Reading: If you turn on “Avoid calendar events” (「カレンダーの予定を避ける」) in auto-scheduling, the App reads your device's calendar when it creates a weekly schedule proposal, and each time you open the App, to adjust the schedule blocks it created automatically so that they do not overlap with your events in the next 7 days. The events it reads are used only to calculate placement and to show the names of overlapping events (for example, “Moved because it overlaps with [event name]”), and are never sent off your device.
- Writing: If you turn on “Write schedule blocks to Calendar” (「予定枠をカレンダーに書き込む」), the App creates its own calendar named “LifeOwner” and writes upcoming schedule blocks to it as events. The App never changes or deletes any events other than the ones it wrote. If you turn this setting off, upcoming events are removed from the calendar (past events remain). If you use “Delete All Data”, the App deletes the events it wrote from its calendar, and also deletes the calendar if it becomes empty.
The events written may be synced according to the settings of your calendar account (such as iCloud). This is done by your device's calendar feature, and the Developer never receives their content.
Screen Time Access
The App's blocking feature uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) technology. This permission is used only to restrict apps you chose yourself, at times you set yourself. It cannot be used to monitor other people's usage, and the App has no such feature.
Revoking Permissions
You can revoke Screen Time and calendar access at any time in iOS Settings. If you revoke them, the features that use those permissions (app blocking and calendar integration) will no longer work.
Use by Children
The App is not designed for children. However, since the App does not collect personal information from anyone regardless of age, the same handling applies when children use it. If a child wishes to contact us by email, please have them get a parent's or guardian's consent first.
Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Deletion, and Other Matters
The Developer does not hold data such as records of your activity in connection with your use of the App. Requests for disclosure, correction, deletion, and other matters concerning the information you sent us when contacting us, as well as opinions and complaints about this policy, are accepted at the contact address below.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we will announce it in the App and on this page. The revised policy takes effect when it is posted on this page.
